ETHORITY · ADVISORY SERVICE · FROM €2,400 · 1 DAY TO 3 MONTHS

Literacy has been law since Feb 2025. Make it show.

Help your people use AI safely: role-based training on the tools they use, a usage policy your works council can review, and an evidence file for Article 4.

Article 4 has applied for more than eighteen months.

The Omnibus softened the wording to measures that support sufficient literacy; documented measures still matter.

Three outputs in one package: skills, rules and evidence.

Training alone leaves no proof; a policy alone changes no habit.

Up to eight internal AI champions trained in Programme M.

A train-the-trainer day keeps the knowledge inside the company after month three.

Who it is for

HR and learning teams, works councils that want rules before a wider rollout, companies introducing Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise or similar assistants, and legal and compliance teams that need Article 4 evidence. It fits well after a Readiness & Maturity Check or an AI Act Readiness Sprint, which tell us which tools and roles matter.

The question it answers

Can our people use AI well, do they know the rules, and can we show what we did?

Questions buyers ask

Does one day satisfy Article 4?

Article 4 asks for measures that support sufficient literacy for the people who use AI. A role-based day with documented learning checks is a strong measure; larger organisations usually need the programme.

Can the works council take part?

Yes. The policy is drafted for works council consultation, and Programme S includes a works council briefing.

Which tools do you train on?

The tools you have approved, plus what the staff survey of the Sprint found in use.

Can sessions be remote?

Yes, at the same price.

What do we keep?

The policy, the evidence file, the role cards and, in Programme M, trained internal champions.

Next step

Plan a training day in a 30-minute call. Where no AI inventory exists yet, start with the sprint; for yearly refreshers, the AI Governance Retainer includes literacy half-days.

ETHORITY · LONG READ

Your people already use AI. The question is whether you can show they use it well.

The AI literacy duty arrived quietly in February 2025. Most companies trained someone. Few can show who, on what, and with which rules.

The AI Act's literacy duty has applied since 2 February 2025. It is one of the shortest articles in the AI Act text on EUR-Lex and one of the easiest to underestimate. The July 2026 Omnibus softened its wording: providers and deployers now take measures to support a sufficient level of AI literacy among their staff. That is still a duty to act, and an auditor will ask what those measures were.

In practice, three things are usually missing. People were shown a tool but not trained for their role. There is no written policy that says which tools are approved and what data may go into them. And nothing documents what happened, so the company cannot show its effort.

AI Literacy & Adoption closes all three in one package. Training is built for one role group at a time, using five to eight real tasks from that group's daily work, done live with the tools the company has approved. Each module ends with a learning check, so the evidence file records knowledge rather than attendance.

The policy matters as much as the training. Three to five pages are enough: approved tools, forbidden uses, data rules, labelling and escalation. Drafting it for works council consultation from the start saves weeks later, and it gives the training a fixed reference.

The programmes add time and depth. Programme S covers three roles in four to six weeks. Programme M runs over three months, trains up to eight internal champions and ends with an adoption report: which uses stuck, and what blocks wider use. That report is often the first honest measure of whether AI is changing work at all, a point the insight on why AI does not scale by itself makes in detail.
