sten@ethority.aiQuestions buyers ask
Can we quote the study in our report?
Yes. Cite the edition, language and date as printed on the cover. Figures should be quoted with their source line.
Can we use the Prism wheel in a publication?
Editorial and non-commercial use with the credit line is open. Commercial use, reprints and media partnerships are by licence on request.
Can we get the data behind the map?
Data access is defined per licence: fields, provenance, refresh and permitted use. These products are being set up with first partners and are available on request.
How is sponsored content kept apart?
Sponsored content and events are labelled as such and produced separately from the editorial Prism and its studies.
Who do we talk to?
Sten Franke, who leads the research; meet the founder and the network behind it.

ETHORITY · LONG READ
Research that others can build on
The Good AI Prism produces a dated, sourced view of the AI market. Research, data and licensing make that work usable beyond ETHORITY: in a client's sector question, a publisher's pages or a data team's systems.
Every edition of the Good AI Prism is a piece of research. The global market study maps 961 AI offerings across 24 topic areas, 8 data types and 6 technology layers and compares more than 30 economies. Each figure carries a source line, each profile fact a read date, and each edition an edition line with language, version and month. That structure is what makes the work reusable by others: a fact with a date and a source can be cited, licensed and built on.
The research, data and licensing class organises that reuse into eight products. They are being set up with first partners, and all of them are available on request.
Research to order
Commissioned Research investigates one business question through an agreed method, source scope and report. A client might ask which AI offerings for claims handling document EU hosting, or how model pricing has moved in a sector over a year. The method, sources and limits are agreed before the work starts and published with the result.
Sector Intelligence Reports bring market context, sources and findings to one defined sector. They extend the free briefs, such as the health and life sciences brief and the finance brief of the study, into deeper reports for a single industry decision.
Premium Prism Editions are stable research editions with a clear method, date and licensed distribution scope, for organisations that need a fixed reference point rather than a live map.
Licences for publishers and partners
Prism Reprints & Media Partnerships bring a named edition of the Prism into a publication with agreed formats, credit line and reuse rights. The artwork is open for editorial and non-commercial use with the credit "Good AI Prism by Sten Franke & ETHORITY®"; commercial use, reprints and partnerships are licensed. The licence covers the artwork. Data, code and third-party marks keep their own terms.
Sponsored Content & Events develop clearly labelled formats with an agreed audience and scope. They are produced separately from the editorial Prism, and every piece says who sponsored it. Editorial order on the map follows stated evidence criteria, as described in the Good AI Prism class.
Data for systems
AI Market Change Feeds deliver dated market changes with the source and context needed to interpret them: renames, price changes, new data regions, model retirements. Enterprise Data Feeds define coverage, provenance, refresh requirements and permitted use for organisations that want registry data inside their own tools. The Registry / Navigator API defines fields, provenance, access and licensed use for an integration. The buyer intelligence subscriptions cover reading the research; these products cover moving the data.
Data products depend on rights. ETHORITY's registry combines provider documentation, public sources and its own analysis, and each element has its own terms. Before any distributable data product is offered, its provenance and rights are reviewed field by field. That is slower than shipping a database export, and it is the only way a licensee can rely on what it receives.
Why buy research rather than search
A search engine or a chatbot can return a list of AI tools in seconds. What it cannot return is a population with a definition, a method with limits and a date that says when the facts were true. The insight on AI growth facts shows how often widely quoted AI figures lack one of the three. Licensed research gives a report, a newsroom or a data team something it can cite with confidence and defend when challenged.
A record that goes back
ETHORITY has published market maps since the first German Social Media Prisma on 21 September 2009. The Social Media Prisma paper documents that record. Continuity matters for licensees: a map with a public history and a stable method is a better reference than a list that appeared last month.
How to start
Most requests begin with a short call. Bring the question, the intended use and the audience. ETHORITY will say which product fits, what the method and licence would be, and how long it takes. Where a question is really a decision, rather than research, the founder-led enterprise services may be the better route, and the call will say so.
What a licensee receives
Whatever the product, a licensee receives the same three things in writing: the method and its limits, the edition or data version with its date, and the licence that says what may be done with the material and for how long. For data products the licence also names the fields, their provenance and the refresh rhythm. That paperwork is short, and it is what turns a useful dataset into one that can be published, built into a product or shown to an auditor without second thoughts. Requests in German and English are handled by the same team, and every edition is available in both languages. Newsrooms planning coverage can start from the ETHORITY press kit.
