nele.ai is a browser and desktop AI workspace for German SMEs billed through a company-wide monthly credit pool instead of per-user licences, with uploaded knowledge bases and optional pseudonymisation.
Knowledge bases from uploaded PDF, Excel, Word, Epub files or website URLs; API with own keys; Word and Excel add-ins; SAML 2.0 SSO. No named connectors to document systems (SharePoint etc.)
Knowledge bases: max 2 GB total, no single document over 20 MB; credit pool is main usage limit; not all reasoning models support every thinking level; context windows vary by model
Credits consumed by model factor and words exchanged. Net prices plus VAT.
Published price
From EUR 10/month (1,000 credits) up to EUR 3,750/month (750,000 credits), e.g. 40,000 credits EUR 300; knowledge bases EUR 19.95/month flat; net plus VAT
Page shows unexplained struck-through '$199'/'$399' figures on some tiers. Example: ~100 employees, 40,000 credits + 1 knowledge base = EUR 319.95/month. EDU rates on request.
Data and controls
Where data is stored
All data (inputs, chats, knowledge bases) stored exclusively on servers in Germany; AI processing selectable on European servers, international servers, or own server environment for certain LLMs
Models page: 'nearly all AI models on European servers'; hosting of some models (e.g. GPT-5, Claude 4.8 Opus) unspecified. Home FAQ says app and data 'exclusively on servers within the EU'. Sub-processor list includes US-based providers (Anthropic PBC, ElevenLabs, Brave) with processing location not always stated.
Quote: 'All available AI models contractually guarantee that your data will not be used to train future models.' Statement concerns model providers; nele.ai's own use not separately addressed.
Certificates and audit reports
ISO 27001 ISMS certified by TÜV Rheinland, certificate issued to GAL Digital GmbH; external cyber security audits ('greenhats approved' seal)
The provider’s own sources say different things here. Model names inconsistent between sub-processor list and models manual page (e.g. Claude Opus 5.5 vs 4.8; Gemini 3.8 vs 3.5 Flash). Private Llama 3 option from home FAQ.
Self-serve from EUR 10/month for whole company, no minimum users stated, no per-user fees; optimised for SMEs in Germany; no enterprise tier listed (consultation)
No source-system connectors, so no ACL inheritance; admins centrally manage models, prompts, knowledge bases and users; least-privilege permission system
Security page: permission system lets administrators set access rights 'based on least privilege'. Knowledge bases are uploads, not synced sources.
Questions for the provider
Ask the provider whether your data is used to train models and which consent controls apply.
Cost per accepted outcome
Editable hypothetical example · not provider pricing or measured performance. Use this monthly worksheet to test your own quote and quality assumptions.
/ accepted outcome
accepted outcomes / month
5,000 tasks × 80% = 4,000 accepted outcomes per month. Higher entered costs raise unit cost; more accepted outcomes spread the same cost over more results.
Formula: entered monthly costs ÷ (monthly tasks × acceptance % ÷ 100). The numerator includes only the costs you enter. Add applicable licence, usage, integration, human review and rework costs yourself; this is not automatically a fully loaded estimate or a vendor billing model. Capacity released is not realized financial value.
Inputs stay in this browser tab’s session, including reload and language changes. They are not added to the page URL. Continuing prepares an unsent enquiry draft.
A written comparison of up to three AI offerings · €195 net
You get the facts that matter for your decision, each with its source, the questions to ask each vendor and a cost estimate based on your own numbers. First you agree your three most important criteria with Sten Franke.
We deliver your brief by email within a maximum of five working days after payment is confirmed and we have agreed the question and minimum information needed to begin. ETHORITY confirms the start date and delivery date and delivers earlier when the reviewed brief is ready. Missing optional information is recorded and assessed; it does not require you to research the solution yourself. Review before delivery and email support are included.
